Our partnership with Bruntwood has helped create a UK network of innovation districts, dedicated to driving the growth of the science and technology sector. Launched in 2018, the Bruntwood SciTech network includes sites in Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Cheshire and, the newest, Liverpool. Alderley Park, in Cheshire, has recently become the home of one of the government’s three national ‘Mega Labs’ to facilitate mass testing for Covid-19

We’re working with Royal Voluntary Service as it supports the most vulnerable during the coronavirus crisis. Royal Voluntary Service plays an important role in supporting older and vulnerable people in hospital and in the community, and our six-year partnership with them has seen hundreds of our colleagues give up their time to volunteer.

Our £500,000 emergency community fund is helping charities and organisations across the UK by supporting the elderly and vulnerable and keeping communities together.So far we have donated £50,000 to the Sun’s appeal for NHS charities, £50,000 to Royal Voluntary Service and have increased our match-funding limit for individual employees from £500 per year to £5,000, for charities related to or affected by Covid-19. 

Increasing life expectancy is to be celebrated, but it poses major challenges for individuals, families and the public and private sectors. Legal & General’s partnership with the University of Edinburgh aims to address these growing societal issues.

2019 saw us continue our strong performance at L&G. EPS1 up 16% to 28.7p, ROE 20.4%, record Pension Risk Transfer sales of £11.4bn and LGIM external net flows of £86bn.
